Terry Hunter has been active in appraising coins, currency, stamps, art glass, and antiques as an associate of Motley’s since 2000. He works in advisory capacity to Motley’s in the antique and estate division in preparation for their sales.
Prior to his work at Motley’s Terry held concurrent jobs with both Amherst Auction Galleries in Amherst, Massachusetts and Ken Miller and Son, Auctioneers in Northfield, Massachusetts. He provided appraisal services for American Ephemera (including stamps, paper currency, poster, and post card art), textiles, especially quilts and jacquard weaving, American art pottery, and American art glass.
Terry spent two summers at the Smithsonian in Washington working with their Art Pottery Collection. He has taught at the secondary and college level in Missouri and Massachusettes.
Terry received degrees in History and Geography from The College of the Ozarks where he was first in class, Cum Laude, and in the History of France from The University of Massachusetts. Terry completed his PhD with the University of Massachusetts in History of Art, American Ephemera and Textiles.
