California Dreaming – Why California Continue To Be On People’s Minds.

In 1965 The Mamas & the Papas released the song ‘California Dreamin’ which was not in fact about living in this wonderful American state, but rather a longing to be back there as the artist was newly married in New York city and faced with a winter that was grey and dreary. It says much for a region that people such a long way away would feel their hearts tugged towards the state that they grew up in.

The reasons that people would be attracted to California are not difficult to imagine.

Firstly there’s the weather. Imagine living in a place where the temperature is always balmy enough to make the wearing of long pants an entirely optional choice. California weather is usually around 70 degrees as a average. That means every day is suitable for the beach and the sun is a constant fact of life. It’s neither to warm or too cold – it’s simply perfect.

That’s really a bit of a generalization – because if you travel to San Francisco it can get pretty chilly. But that city makes up for its temperature by being one of the most fascinating in the United States with so many attractions it makes the mind boggle.

If you’ve got kids – or are young at heart California will never cease to amaze. It is home to some of the most incredible theme parks in the United States. Universal Hollywood, Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags all call California home. You’ll never be without an option for any weekend where you want to be entertained.

Of course you’ll also be in the land of the celebrity. Los Angeles and Hollywood are right on your doorstep. This is a place where a morning cup of coffee at an upmarket bistro can see you rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in show business.

NO mention of the attractions of California would be complete with saying at least something about the beaches that litter this immensely attractive part of American real estate. There are over 1000 miles of pristine coastline to enjoy. Venice Beach in Los Angeles is only one of the most famous and has been immortalized in film again and again. this is the place to go people watching and take in some rays.

Go to California and you’ll realize why artists and ordinary folk return again and again to enjoy the unique atmosphere of this great American state.
